Sterile Ophthalmic Solution
1. COMPOSITION
Each mL contains:
• Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium 10 mg (1% w/v).
• Stabilized Oxychloro Complex 0.05 mg (0.005% w/v).
• Excipients: As applicable.
• Sterile aqueous vehicle q.s.
2. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Sterile, clear ophthalmic solution for topical ocular administration.
3. THERAPEUTIC CLASS
Ophthalmic Lubricant – Artificial Tear Preparation.
4. INDICATIONS
Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium Eye Drops are indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with ocular surface dryness and irritation, including:
• Dryness and discomfort of the eyes.
• Burning, irritation and foreign-body sensation associated with dry eyes.
• Temporary relief of ocular discomfort associated with wind, dust, smoke and prolonged visual tasks.
• Lubrication and protection of the ocular surface in patients experiencing tear-film insufficiency.
Carboxymethyl Cellulose Sodium acts as a lubricant and moisturizing agent to help protect and hydrate the ocular surface. Stabilized Oxychloro Complex is included as a preservative component of the formulation.
5. CONTRAINDICATIONS
• Hypersensitivity to carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, stabilized oxychloro complex, or any component of the formulation.
6. DRUG INTERACTIONS
• No significant drug interactions are expected when used topically as directed.
• Other ophthalmic preparations should generally be administered with an appropriate interval between applications.
The treating physician or pharmacist should review concomitant ophthalmic medicines before use.
7. ADMINISTRATION
For topical ophthalmic use only. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s) according to the approved product information. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or surrounding surfaces. If using other ophthalmic preparations, separate administration by an appropriate interval.
8. STORAGE
Store according to the storage conditions stated on the approved product label. Protect from excessive heat, moisture and light. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. Do not use if the solution shows visible particles, precipitation or unexpected discoloration.
