COMPOSITION
Each vial contains:
Imipenem equivalent to Imipenem ............... 500 mg
Cilastatin Sodium equivalent to Cilastatin ............... 500 mg
Excipients: As applicable.

Sterile, white to off-white powder for solution for intravenous administration.
THERAPEUTIC CLASS
Carbapenem Antibiotic + Renal Dehydropeptidase-I Inhibitor
INDICATIONS
Imipenem + Cilastatin Injection is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
It may be used in the treatment of:
• Lower respiratory tract infections
• Complicated urinary tract infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Complicated skin and soft-tissue infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Septicemia and bloodstream infections
• Gynecological infections
• Other serious infections caused by susceptible bacteria
Treatment should be guided by the susceptibility of the causative organism and applicable antimicrobial guidelines.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Imipenem + Cilastatin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to imipenem, cilastatin, other carbapenems, or any component of the formulation.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Particular consideration may be required with concomitant use of:
• Valproic acid or valproate
• Ganciclovir
• Anticoagulants such as warfarin
• Other medicines affecting renal function
The treating physician should review all concomitant medications before administration.
ADMINISTRATION
Imipenem + Cilastatin Injection is intended for intravenous administration.
The contents of the vial should be reconstituted with a suitable compatible diluent under appropriate aseptic conditions.
The reconstituted solution should be further diluted as required and administered by a qualified healthcare professional according to the approved product information and institutional protocol.

STORAGE
Store according to the storage conditions stated on the approved product label.
Protect from excessive heat, moisture and light.
After reconstitution/dilution, use within the period specified in the approved product information.
Do not use if the reconstituted solution shows visible particles, precipitation or unexpected discoloration.
