1. COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains:

Levothyroxine Sodium equivalent to Levothyroxine 25 mcg / 50 mcg / 100 mcg
Excipients: q.s.

4. INDICATIONS

Levothyroxine is indicated for:

  • Treatment of hypothyroidism.

  • Congenital and acquired hypothyroidism.

  • Thyroid hormone replacement following thyroidectomy or radioiodine treatment.

  • Suppression of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) when clinically indicated.

5. CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Hypersensitivity to levothyroxine or any component of the formulation.

  • Untreated thyrotoxicosis.

  • Untreated adrenal insufficiency.

  • Acute myocardial infarction or acute myocarditis, unless specifically directed by a specialist.

Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, or severe long-standing hypothyroidism.

6. DRUG INTERACTIONS

Levothyroxine absorption or effect may be affected by:

  • Calcium and iron supplements

  • Aluminium- or magnesium-containing antacids

  • Sucralfate

  • Proton-pump inhibitors

  • Cholestyramine and other bile-acid sequestrants

  • Certain anticonvulsants

  • Warfarin and other anticoagulants

  • Antidiabetic medicines

Calcium and iron supplements should generally be taken at least 4 hours apart from levothyroxine.

7. ADMINISTRATION

For oral use only.

The dose should be individualized according to age, body weight, clinical condition, and thyroid function tests.

Take once daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach, with a full glass of water, 30–60 minutes before breakfast.

Take consistently at the same time each day. Do not change the dose or discontinue treatment without medical advice.

Regular monitoring of TSH and, when appropriate, thyroid hormone levels is recommended.

8. STORAGE

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture and light.

Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children.

Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package.
