4. INDICATIONS

Mycophenolate mofetil is used in combination with other immunosuppressive medicines for the prevention of organ rejection in patients receiving:

  • Kidney transplantation

  • Heart transplantation

  • Liver transplantation

5. CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Hypersensitivity to mycophenolate mofetil, mycophenolic acid, or any component of the formulation.

  • Pregnancy, except where specifically indicated by a specialist.

  • Breastfeeding is generally not recommended during treatment.

  • Women of childbearing potential who do not comply with the required pregnancy-prevention measures.

6. DRUG INTERACTIONS

Mycophenolate mofetil may interact with:

  • Antacids containing magnesium or aluminium

  • Proton-pump inhibitors

  • Cholestyramine

  • Sevelamer and other phosphate binders

  • Certain antibiotics

  • Other immunosuppressive medicines

Patients should inform their physician about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products they are taking.

7. ADMINISTRATION

For oral use only.

The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by the treating physician according to the type of transplant and individual clinical condition.

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Regular medical monitoring, including blood-cell counts and assessment for infections, is recommended during treatment.

Mycophenolate mofetil can cause serious fetal harm. Women of childbearing potential must follow appropriate pregnancy-prevention and testing requirements under medical supervision.

8. STORAGE

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture and excessive heat.

Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children.

Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package.
